A huge crowd gathered from near and far to attend Lazy P Ranch & Arena’s annual Chuckwagon Stampede in Lockwood, MO July 22 - 25th.
Friday kicked things off with a Family Fun Showdeo and Scott Daily Horsemanship Clinic. Many enjoyed the trail rides and wagon riding. Later in the evening, Distant Kin entertained the crowd with live music.
Saturday’s events included Arkansas Chuck Wagon Association Chuckwagon Racing, horse and mule races, a poker run trail ride and ranch rodeo. This year there were 56 racing teams entered with eight first place, eight second place and eight third place prize buckles awarded. The thousand dollar added money ranch rodeo was quite a show with 19 four-man teams of cowboys competing in mugging, branding, doctoring and wild cow milking, despite a lot of mud and pouring rain! First place went to the He Man Woman Haters Team, second place to Cedar Creek Cattle Company and third place to Goat Ranch Cattle Company.
Sunday, the rain let up and things came to a close with cowboy church in the morning and more racing in the afternoon.
Lazy P would like to thank everyone for their support and hope you all had a great time!! See you August 27-28 at our ACRA/IPRA sanctioned Championship Rodeo! For a full schedule, go to www.lazyparena.com or call 417-232-4122 for details.
