Firefighters Extinguish Grass Fire, Truck Fire

Dade County Rural Firefighters from Dadeville, Everton and Greenfield responded to a grass fire at the Rex Mallory farm, just north of Highway 160 and South Dade 191 about 4:00 p.m. Friday evening.

 

Several bales of hay were destroyed before the blaze was brought under control. The blaze started from burning trash, a firefighter said.
A Dadeville fire truck caught fire and was heavily damaged before reaching the scene. Greenfield firefighters returned and quickly extinguished the blaze.

 

No injuries were reported.
