Four people were injured at 7:55 a.m. Thursday, September 10, in a near head-on crash on MO 96, five miles west of Halltown in Lawrence County.

Casey Stockton, 18, of Miller, was westbound in a Chevrolet Blazer and was approaching a vehicle making a right turn. Stockton swerved to the left to avoid the vehicle, crossed the center line and struck the eastbound Ford Explorer driven by Stephanie Noad, 38, of Greenfield, the Missouri State Highway Patrol said.

Stephanie Noad and her passenger, Marcie Noad, 22, also of Greenfield, both received moderate injuries and were transported to Cox South Hospital in Springfield for treatment. They were both wearing seat belts, the patrol said.

Stockton and his passenger, Tyler Schmidt, 17, also of Miller, sustained serious injuries and were transported to St. John’s Hospital in Joplin for treatment. Stockton was not wearing a seat belt but Schmidt was wearing one, the patrol said.
