 Dade County Voters will join all Missouri Voters in taking part in the 2010 Statewide Primary Election on Tuesday, August 3, 2010. Polls are open from 6:00 am til 7:00 pm at eight voting centers in Dade County. In a primary election in Missouri voters choose their party candidates for the general election in November 2010. Voters have the choice of taking a Republican, Democrat, Libertarian, or Constitution party ballot to vote for the candidates.

 

On the Republican ballot, nine candidates are vying for US Senator, the two candidates for Missouri State Auditor are Allen Icet and Tom Schweich. Nine GOP candidates are running for 4th District US Congress. In a heated race, three candidates David Jerome, Everton, Bill Savard, Greenfield and Mike Kelly, Lamar are trying to win the Missouri State Representative seat in the 126th District which includes Dade, Barton, and parts of Jasper and Polk counties. The winner of the primary will win the seat as no other candidates  have filed.

 

 Dade County contests include Presiding Commissioner, Carl Beerly, Chris “Buckshot” Allen and Randy Daniel. Clerk of the Circuit Court, Mary Mc Gee, Kim Marrs Kinder and Angie Brown. County Clerk, Melinda (Wallen} Wright and Robert “Bob” Jackson. Recorder of Deeds, Carolyn Kile and Natasha Gossett. Unopposed are Associate Circuit Judge, David Munton, Prosecuting Attorney, Gary Troxell. No Democratic candidates  have filed for Dade County offices so winners  of the GOP primary will take office in January 2011.
On the Democratic Primary ballot, three candidates are running for US Senate, two for Missouri State Auditor and two for US Congress 4th District.

 

Voters will also decide on a state wide issue Proposition C,  changing Missouri Statutes to deny federal government authority to penalize Missouri citizens for refusing to purchase private health insurance or infringe upon the right to offer or accept direct payment for lawful healthcare services. The measure is a states right issues in regard to the recently passed federal health care law.

 

Some 2000 Dade County voters are expected in the Dade County Election. Voters can vote absentee ballots if they will not be able to vote on Tuesday August 3, 2010. Check with the Dade County Clerks Office.
