It was standing room only at the Everton High School gymnasium Friday night, February 10, 2012, as the Tigers played host to the Niangua Cardinals at their annual Everton basketball homecoming.

Theme for the evening was “Under The Western Sky”.

Homecoming activities began at 5:30 p.m. with a girls game. At halftime of the girls game an alumni reception was held in the library. Between games there were awards and recognition of Everton High School Alumni. Next came the boys varsity game.

Following the games, it was time to crown the new 2012 homecoming queen. Lights were turned down and attendants and escorts were introduced.

2012 queen candidates and escorts were: Miss Amanda Brown, daughter of Mandy Maxwell and Brandon Irwin. She was escorted by Mr. Chris Patino, son of Darlene and Greg Miles. Next candidate was Miss Paige Limpus, daughter of Bruce and Khristen Limpus. Miss Limpus was escorted by Mr. Alex Konarski, son of Paul and Cheryl Konarski. Next candidate was Miss Emily Cantrell, daughter of Kelly and Shelley Netzer. Miss Cantrell was escorted by Mr. Colby Conn, son of Cheyenne and Kristy Conn.

Crowning this year’s homecoming queen was Miss Kaylee Cobb, Everton’s 2011 Homecoming Queen. Kaylee is the daughter of Matt and Tami Cobb. Last year’s homecoming king, Logan Johnson, was unable to attend so Miss Cobb was escorted by another of last year’s graduates, Mr. Jacob Merrill. Jacob is the son of Elliette and Shawn Merrill. Accompanying the reigning king and queen were flower girl, Kylee Shanks and crown bearer, Blake Shanks. Kylee and Blake are the daughter and son of Coach Josh Shanks and his wife, Amanda.

The student body voted earlier in the day and the 2012 Homecoming Queen and King chosen were Miss Paige Limpus and Mr. Alex Konarski.

Cheers and applause followed as the 2011 queen, Miss Kaylee Cobb crowned the new 2012 Queen, Miss Paige Limpus.

A long double line was then formed for the new queen and king and their royal court to enter the stage. Many pictures were taken.

A homecoming dance followed in the cafeteria.
