Roger D. Cox, of Greenfield, MO, departed this life on Tuesday, June 22, 2010 in his home at the age of 72 years.
He was born on August 8, 1937 in Delavan, MN to Dallas and Gladys (Meyer) Cox. Roger owned and operated a transportation business. He was united in marriage to Katherine J. Brown on November 20, 1993 in Ash Grove, MO.
Roger was an avid outdoorsman, and loved animals and his horses. His family was most important to him and he had a huge heart. Roger treasured his children and grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Dallas Cox and Gladys Cox Rorman; and one brother, Harold "Pinky" Rorman.
Survivors include his loving wife, Kathy Cox of the home; daughter, Trinity Cox of the home; children, Donna Hackney, Cheryl King, Dawn Vanbelle, Dallas Cox, and their mother, Gladys Hunnicut of Phoenix, AZ; children, Sara Cox of Springfield, MO, Connie Cox of Greenfield, MO, and their mother, Alma Williams of Greenfield, MO; children, Bobby Keefover and Matthew Keefover of San Antonio, TX; two brothers, Richard Rorman of the home and Harlan Rorman of Coon Rapids, Minnesota; sixteen grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Services were held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 26, 2010 in Greenfield Funeral Chapel with Dr. James Jones officiating. Burial followed in Greenfield Cemetery. The family received friends Friday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the funeral chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to the family in care of the funeral chapel for expenses or Oxford Hospice. Services were under the care of Greenfield Funeral Chapel.
