Marvelle Marie Gerry, of Lockwood, MO, departed this life on Friday, July 23, 2010 in St. John's Hospital in Springfield, MO at the age of 78 years.

 

She was born on December 24, 1931 in Red Oak, MO to George and Pearlie (Clyman) Blackford.  Marvelle was united in marriage to Wayne Gerry on November 8, 1951 in Lockwood, MO.  She worked at the Rader's Store in Lockwood for 45 years.  Marvelle was a member of the First Baptist Church of Lockwood.

 

Preceding her in death were her parents.

 

Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Wayne Gerry; one son, Richard Gerry and his wife Lisa; three grandchildren, Amanda Gerry, Sarah Rawlings and her husband Jerry, and Preston Gerry; two step grandchildren, Megan Smith and Haley Snook; two great grandchildren, Dylan Tindle and Colton Rawlings; and one brother, Donald Blackford and wife Irma.

 

Services were held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, July 25, 2010 in the First Baptist Church of Lockwood with Pastor Steve Clark officiating.  Burial followed in the Lockwood Cemetery.  Friends called at their convenience on Saturday in the funeral chapel.  Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church of Lockwood.  Services were under the care of Lockwood Funeral Chapel.
