MILLER COACHES GONE
Both the boys and girls basketball coaches at Miller High School will not return for the 2010-2011 season. Ryan Stokes the boys coach with a 59-23 record and a third place state finish in 2009 in Class 2 was asked to resign after action by the Miller school board. No reason was given for his dismissal.
Girls basketball coach, Brandon Weiss, has also resigned and is looking for coaching jobs elsewhere in SW Missouri. He was 52-11 in two years and led the Lady Cardinals to a third place finish in Class 2 this year.
Former Miller football coach, Harv Welch, was fired in 2008. Miller is also losing its superintendent, high school principal and high school counselor.
DADEVILLE PLAYERS HONORED
More awards are going to Dadeville basketball players Zach Medley and Brock Toler. They were named to the All District Class 1 team as selected by area coaches for the Springfield News Leader.
