Willard Lincoln Lowe, of Greenfield, MO, departed this life on Sunday, July 24, 2011, in the Good Shepherd Nursing Home, Lockwood, MO, at the age of 92 years.


He was born on March 7, 1919 in Meeker, OK, to Thomas and Lucy (Wilkerson) Lowe. Willard was united in marriage to Thelma Rader on November 1, 1941 in Ozark, MO. He was baptized into Jesus Christ and confirmed in 1942 in St. John’s Lutheran Church, Lawton, OK. Willard served his country in the United States Army during World War II (1944-1945) in the Pacific theatre. In 1950, Willard and Thelma moved to Greenfield where they operated Lowe’s For Clothes and Willard worked for Washington Manufacturing Company for 25 years. In retirement, Willard and Thelma moved near Arcola where they established Lowe’s Lakeview Development. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and gardener. He was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church, Lockwood, MO, where he served on various committees and the American Legion Post 47, Greenfield.


Preceding him in death were his parents, Thomas and Lucy Lowe; two brothers, one sister and his wife, Thelma Lowe.


Survivors include one son, Rodney Lowe and his wife Nancy of Greenfield, MO; two daughters, Dr. Beverly A. Holmes and her husband Jim of Lockwood, MO and Linda Sue Lowe of Redway, CA; one sister, Idell Ellis of Tulsa, OK; three grandchildren, Rev. Joshua T. Lowe and his wife Connie, Sara Holmes and Jason M. Young and his wife Darlene; and several nieces and nephews.


Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 16, 2011 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Lockwood, with Pastor Gary Griffin officiating. Burial followed in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery. The family received friends prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church. Services were under the care of Lockwood Funeral Chapel.
