Muncy’s sponsoring ‘Putt Eating Disorders Away’

Muncy’s Supermarkets, with locations in Lockwood and Sarcoxie, together with Federated Insurance, is again sponsoring the “Let’s Putt Eating Disorders Away” golf tournament, to be held at the Lockwood Municipal Golf Course July 21 (with a rain date of August 4). This will be the fourth year for the event.

Maddie Muncy, the daughter of David of Lesha Muncy of Muncy’s Supermarkets, was diagnosed with an eating disorder in 2013, and came up with the golf tournament as way to raise funds for the National Eating Disorder Association. NEDA provides support to individuals and families affected by eating disorders, and attempt to prevent, cure and otherwise help those dealing with this mental illness gain access to quality care.

Sponsors are currently being sought for the tournament. A $25 donation earns placement on the tournament banner.

The deadline for placement on the banner is July 13. The banner will be on display at the golf course during tournament play and afterward at the Muncy’s Supermarket in Lockwood.
