Golden City Losing Only Bank Following Arvest Merger

The Golden City branch of Bear State Bank is set to close Sept. 21. Arkansas-based Arvest Bank, which acquired Bear State last year, has decided the branches in Lockwood and Golden City are too close together for them to keep both open. (Photo by James McNary)
