Stephen Earl Wilson

Stephen Earl Wilson, age 62 years, died on August 22, 2018, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Stephen was bom March 7, 1956, to Clinton Woodrow Wilson and Vema Mae (Flenniken) Wilson, Golden City, Missouri.

Stephen graduated from Lockwood High School in 1974. He worked for United Missouri Bank in Carthage and Joplin. He received an accounting degree from Missouri Southern State University, in Joplin.

In 1983 Stephen moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma. He worked for Bank of Oklahoma for ten years.

Stephen was preceded in death by his father, Woodrow. Survivors include his partner of 32 years, John Mercer; his mother, Vema Mae, Golden City, Missouri; sister, Linda Klender (Michael) Kansas City, Missouri; beloved nephew, Thomas Klender, student at University of Arkansas, Fayetteville; several aunts and uncles: Dale Flenniken (Karalyle) Jasper, Missouri; Shirley Flenniken Carthage, Missouri; and Harold Scott Bakersfield, California; many cousins and friends.

Stephen will be remembered not only for his lavish baking talents but for being a kind, gentle and brilliant man.

A celebration of Stephen’s life was held Saturday, August 25, 2018, at Fellowship Congregational Church (UCC) in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Memorial gifts may be made in Stephen’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital Memphis, Tennessee.
