Mildred F. Hodgson

Mildred F. Hodgson, 88, of Halltown, Missouri, departed this life at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, August 11, 2015, in the Lawrence County Manor in Mt. Vernon, Missouri.

She was born on February 26, 1927, in Cedar County, Missouri, to Ralph and Lora (Farmer) Evans.

Mildred graduated from Lockwood High School in Lockwood, Missouri.

She was united in marriage to William W. Bill Hodgson on April 7, 1945, in Tyler, Texas. Mildred retired from the Miller School District in 1998 after 28 years as a school secretary at West Elementary. She moved from her rural home west of Miller to the Halltown area in 2000 to be closer to family.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Ralph and Lora Evans; her husband, Bill Hodgson; her brother, Edward Evans; and her sister, Fernita Berry.

Survivors include three sons: Howard Hodgson and his wife, Terrell, of Halltown, Missouri; Jerry Hodgson and his wife, Brenda, of La Russell, Missouri; and Byrl Hodgson and his wife, Pam, of Protem, Missouri; one daughter, Bonnie Owens and her husband, Homer, of Halltown, Missouri; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; her sister-in-law, Florine Stapp, of Greenfield, Missouri; and a host of nieces, nephews, and former students at West Elementary who loved her dearly.

Graveside services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 15, 2015, in Lockwood Cemetery.

The family received friends on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. until service time in Lockwood Funeral Chapel.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Miller High School Alumni Scholarship Fund in care of Miller High School.
