June Evelyn Davis

June Evelyn Davis, of Greenfield, Missouri, departed this life on Sunday, April 14, 2019, in the Dade County Nursing Home at the age of 92.

She was born on February 8, 1927, in Springfield, Missouri, to L. Earl and Thelma (King) Wilson. June graduated from Greenfield High School and attended Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri. She was united in marriage to George William “Macky” Davis on December 25, 1945.

June was a wonderful homemaker, and enjoyed helping on the farm. She had also worked at the license bureau, and for Canada Funeral Home. June was a member of the Ebenezer Presbyterian Church. She always looked forward to traveling with Macky to Texas every winter. June had a passion for genealogy.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Earl and Thelma Wilson; her husband, Macky Davis; her daughter, Maggie Jones; two sons, John Davis and William G. “Bill” Davis; and her brother, Benton King Wilson and his wife Mary Margaret.

Survivors include one son, Richard Davis of Springfield, Missouri; four grandchildren: Perry Davis of Kansas; Mike Davis of Kansas; Charles Jackson Jones of Ash Grove, Missouri; and Megan Doxtator of Omaha, Nebraska; six great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, April 19, 2019, in Greenfield Funeral Chapel. Burial will be at a later date in Greenfield Cemetery.
