Lack Allen Fitzpatrick, Jr., of Greenfield, Missouri, departed this life on Saturday morning, July 20, 2019, at the Good Shepherd Community Care and Rehabilitation Facility at the age of 87.

Lack Allen or as he preferred “Fitz” was born on May 14, 1932 to Lack Allen and Lyda Fitzpatrick. He spent his childhood helping his dad at the City Meat Market, riding horses all over Greenfield, and in the company of his cousins, Jane and Mary Martha, on the Holman farm. Fitz enjoyed his school days and his classmates.

He graduated from Greenfield High School in 1950. Fitz attended the University of Missouri 3 ½ semesters before enrolling in the service on March 18, 1952.
He married Clara Glaze in San Francisco on September 26, 1952. Fitz was stationed in Hawaii for 3 ½ years where Clara joined him prior to the birth of their first child, William Allen “Bill”, on September 3, 1953. Bill and Clara preceded him in death in 1993 and 1998.

Fitz is survived by his daughter, Rebecca Ann “Becky” who lives in Long Beach, California; his nephews, David and Steve Hailey and their families of Bona, Missouri; and many friends and extended family.

After his discharge from the Navy in 1956, Fitz farmed and raised cattle on approximately 500 acres southwest of Greenfield until he was 75 years of age. During the construction of the Stockton Lake, he worked several years for the Corps of Engineers surveying and building various public facilities.

Fitz was a member of the First Christian Church, the Greenfield Washington Lodge #87 A.F. & A.M, and the Springfield Shrine Club since 1970. He received his 60-year-service certificate on March 12, 2017.
Fitz was a member and past president of the Greenfield Cemetery for many years. He rarely missed a morning at the Backwoods Restaurant enjoying coffee with his friends.

Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 27, 2019, in the Greenfield Cemetery. Family and friends are invited and encouraged to gather after the service at the Washington Lodge #87 A.F. & A.M for food and fellowship.
