LaQuetta F. Sewell

LaQuetta F. Sewell, 85, of Everton, passed away on Tuesday, July 23, 2019.

LaQuetta, the daughter of Denzil A. and Alma E. (Brooks) Weichold, was born on April 29, 1934 in Everton, Missouri.

On April 11, 1954, LaQuetta and James “Jim” E. Sewell were married and shared over 39 years together, before James passed away in 1993.
LaQuetta was a lifelong area resident of Everton and taught for 45 years for Everton schools. She lived on the same farm for over 6o years.
LaQuetta was a member of the Everton Community Church, American Legion Auxiliary, Everton Saddle Club, and Jolly Homemakers Club.

LaQuetta enjoyed reading, gardening, painting, cake decorating, and traveling. She was known for her blackberry cobbler and homemade ice-cream.

LaQuetta loved her family and spending time with them, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all those that knew and loved her.

LaQuetta is survived by her daughters, Teresa Melton and husband, Greg; Tammy Garver and husband, David, all of Everton; five grandchildren: Brandon Garver; Jennifer Countryman and husband, Scott; Derrick Garver; Melanie Longanecker and husband, Lucas; Cheyanne Melton; five great grandchildren: Adella Countryman, Waylon Countryman, Reese Countryman, Wyatt Garver, Lane Longanecker; two sisters, Loreva Wilson of Everton, LaVonda Hamilton and husband, Ken, of Colorado; several cousins, nieces, nephews, other family and many friends.

LaQuetta was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jim; grandson, Christopher Davis; and brother, Harvey “Smokey” Weichold.
Funeral services were Saturday, July 27, 2019 at the Wilson-Griffin Funeral Home in Ash Grove, Missouri, with burial in Sinking Creek Cemetery, Everton, Missouri.

Memorial donations can be made in LaQuetta’s name to Everton Community Church and may be left at the funeral home.
