Evelene Louise Huffman

Evelene Louise Huffman, 85, of Kansas City, Missouri, went to be with her Lord January 27, 2016, in Northville, Michigan.

A memorial service was held at Weng Funeral Chapel, in Jasper, Missouri, on Tuesday, February 2nd, at 2 p.m. with visitation immediately preceeding from 12:30 1:30 p.m.

Pastor Wayne Kurtycz, of Northridge Church, officiated the memorial service. Burial followed at Paradise Cemetery in Jasper.

Weng Funeral Chapel handled the funeral arrangements.

Evelene was born in Golden City, Missouri, to Henry and Edith Beerly on June 24, 1930. She went to high school at Golden City and graduated in 1948. She went on to take classes at Springfield business school, where she excelled in typing and shorthand.

She met her husband, William, when she was waitressing at a local diner in Jasper. They shortly thereafter became husband and wife, and were married for over 54 years!
She came to know Christ at a young age and served Him throughout her life, volunteering as both adult and children leadership roles in her local church. She enjoyed gardening and cooking, but most of all, spending time with family and friends and neighbors.

Evelene is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William Huffman; and her sister; Stella Kinney.

Evelene is survived by her sisters, Dorothy Pugh of Carthage, Missouri and Henrietta Parker, married to Stanley Parker, of Golden City; and by her brothers: Carl Beerly, Harry Beerly, Louis Beerly and Gaylon Beerly, all of Golden City.

Evelene is also survived by her sons, Bruce Huffman of Florence, Arizona, Robert Huffman of Asheville, North Carolina, and Dennis Huffman of Howell, Michigan; and five grandchildren: Sydney, Caroline, William (Liam), Ian and Luke Huffman.
