Violet Mae (Hansen) Watson, age 95, of Lockwood, Missouri, peacefully passed away on Friday, February 19th, 2016, in the Good Shepherd Nursing Home.

She was born to Clarence and Freida (Anderson) Hansen on May 5, 1920, in Carter, South Dakota. Violet was the first of three siblings.

She bowled on several bowling leagues at Lockwood Bowl, delivered meals to the elderly with Meals on Wheels and absolutely loved to play cards. Especially pitch, which was her favorite.

Her favorite role in her lifetime besides being a mother, was being a grandmother, or as her four granddaughters affectionately liked to call her “Me-Mo’s” , and being a great-grandmother to her three great-grandchildren. She often spent many weekends and summers over her lifetime having her granddaughters stay with her.

If you ever had a conversation with Violet, you knew she was a proud mother, Aunt Tottie and grandmother and were guaranteed to hear many stories about all of her family and memories she had with them.
Violet was a member of the Lockwood Presbyterian Church, where she also served as a board member on the church presbytery. She was also a breast cancer survivor.

Violet was preceded in death by her father, Clarence Hansen; mother, Frieda Hansen; husband, Howard Watson; brother, Donald Hansen; and daughter, Candi Duncan.
