Mary Lou Emanuel

Mary Lou Emanuel, the daughter of Hollister and Mildred (Spangler) Morgan, was born April 16, 1928. She passed away on Monday evening, May 9, 2016, in her home, at 11:08 p.m. Her age was 88 years and 23 days.

Mary Lou was born in Indpendence, Missouri, in Jackson County. She attended and graduated from Raytown High School in 1947. Mary Lou retired from the Internal Revenue Service after 25 years of service as a investigator/supervisor. She was an active member of the Dadeville United Methodist Church, where she served on the board.

Mary Lou Morgan and Clifford R. Emanuel were united in marriage on November 22, 1947. To this union two children were born. Together Mary Lou and Clifford were privileged to share over 63 years. Clifford preceded her in death, January 10, 2011. Also, preceding were her parents; grandson, Robert Waugh; two brothers: James and Dale Morgan.

She is survived by her son, Dennis Ray Emanuel, of Raytown, Missouri; and daughter, Linda Smith of Liberty, Missouri; four grandchildren: David Lynn Waugh, Holly Waugh, Christopher Emanuel, and Kathy Emanuel; and 8 great-grandchildren: Joshua Waugh, Hannah Waugh, Joseph Waugh, Jacob Waugh, Quinn Waugh, Luke Waugh, Annabelle Maciak and Amelia Emanuel.

Services will be held Friday morning May 13, 2016, at 10:30 a.m. in the Dadeville United Methodist Church with Rev. Gerald Powley officiating, with interment in Floral Hills Cemetery, Kansas City, Missouri, later on Friday afternoon, under the care and direction of Wilson Brim Daniel Funeral Home, Ash Grove, Missouri.

The family received friends on Thursday evening, May 12, 2016, from 7:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. in the Dadeville United Methodist Church.
