Join In The Fun! Celebrate America!

This Saturday, June 25th, 2016, from 9 a.m. to dark at the Greenfield City Park, Celebrate America and Greenfield’s 175th Birthday event gets underway.

A series of events has been scheduled for the day and we invite you to bring your chairs, blankets, umbrellas, etc. and enjoy the days events.

Free swimming, pulled pork and hot dogs by Jim and Perry Ellis for lunch begins at 10:30 a.m. til 4 p.m., car show, live bands featuring The Back Porch Band from 12 noon to 2 p.m. and Stevie Newman, Clifton Boone, Marcus Chapman will perform from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m.

There will be tournaments for volleyball, basketball, tug-o-war, tether ball and more. Face painting for the youngsters.

The community center will be open through out the day as a cooling center with indoor games like bingo, cards, dominoes, etc.

Other food vendors will be the Booster Club, Arcola Lions Club, That Place and others.

Celebrate America is hosted by the Greenfield Area Chamber of Commerce and the City of Greenfield.

Bob Jackson and Senator Ron Richards will address the crowd at 8 p.m.

Hope Campbell is making 100 cupcakes in the form of a flag that will read Happy 175th Birthday, Greenfield.
