Primary Election On Tap For Area Voters

Voters in Missouri and Dade County will go to the polls on Tuesday, August 2, 2016, to select Republican and Democrat nominees for the general election in Novem- ber 2016.

In Dade County races, the only contested Republican contest is for Public Adminstrator with incumbent Chrissy Welch and Stanley Jones filing for the position. No Democrat has entered the race.

Unoppposed in the primary and general election are Max Huffman, (R) Sheriff, Annette Black (R) Asssesor, Rod O’Connor (R) Treasurer/ Collector, Gary Banta (R) Coroner, David Rusch (R) Western Commisioner.

In the Eastern Commissioner race, incumbment Dallas Maxwell (R) will face Democrat Chuck Moore in November.
School patrons in the Lockwood, Missouri, R-1 School District are being asked to approve issuing general obligation bonds of $800,000 for the purposes of constructing, improving, furnishing, and equipping new and existing school buildings and related facilities.

1. Roofing repairs elementary school.

2. Windows and wall replacement elementary school.

3. District-wide improvement and repair of heating and cooling systems.

4. Restroom repair.

Approval of this proposition by 57% of voters is estimated to result in a tax increase of approximately 0 cents over the existing debt service levy of 60 cents per one hundred dollars of assessed valuation of real and personal property.

DEM US SENATOR: Jason Kander, Chief Wana Dubie, Cori Bush, Robert Mack.

US CONGRESS 4th District GOP: Vicki Hartzler, Incumbent; John Webb.

US CONGRESS 4th District DEM: Gordon Christensen, Jack Truman.

STATE WIDE MISSOURI CONTESTS

Governor: Catherine Hanaway, Eric Greitens, John Brunner, Peter Kinder.
Lt Governor: Mike Parsons, Bev Randall, Arnie Dienoff.

Secretary of State: John (Jay) Ashcroft, Will Kraus, Roi Chinn.

Attorney General: Kurt Schaefer, Josh Hawley.

Governor: Chris Koster, Leonard Steinman, Charles Wheeler, Eric Morrison.
