Help Those Affected By Wildfires Deadline April 6

Help us fill the semi-trailer by April 6!

The Arcola Christian Church (intersection of 39 and Y Hwy) and the Barton County Extension office (801 E 12th, Lamar) will be accepting farm supplies until April 6th, for those affected by the March wildfires that destroyed livestock, homes and farming operations.

Items will be delivered through Kansas Farm Bureau on April 7. We are not accepting hay.

The Arcola Christian Church gym is open from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily, call Larry Wheeler at 417-424-3218. The Barton County Extension office will accept donations from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., weekdays. Call Jill at 417-682-3579.

Thank you for your generous donations: Orscheln Industries Foundation, Lamar O’Reilly, T&B Welding, Pennington Seed, local newspapers and farmers and friends from Barton, Cedar, Dade, Jasper and Oregon counties.

Examples of items accepted: Fence posts, electric fence supplies, barb wire, fence clips, fence pliers, post drivers, hay rings, panels, gas cans, oil (tractor and pickup), air and oil filters (tractor and pickup), grease, grease guns, tools (shovel, rake, pliers, hammer, wrench), salt blocks, milk replacer, livestock feed or supplements, feed troughs, Milk bottles, 5-gallon buckets.

Basically anything in your day-to-day cattle farming life, except hay.
