Martha Sue Hare

Martha Sue Hare, 77, of Pittsburg, Kansas, formerly of Lockwood, Missouri, passed away April 7, 2015, at Freeman Hospital in Joplin, Missouri.

Mrs. Hare was born March 9, 1938, at Lockwood, Missouri, the daughter of Willis and Aretha (Berry) Pierce. She was raised in Lockwood and attended Lockwood schools.

On July 20, 1962, Sue was united in marriage to James David Hare in Greenfield, Missouri. He survives at their home in Pittsburg.

Sue was a homemaker who lived in Missouri most of her life prior to moving back to Pittsburg in 2014.

In addition to her husband, David, she is survived by four children: Mark Hare of Lockwood; Elizabeth (Greg) Snider of Pittsburg; Laura Hare of Pittsburg; and Michael Hare of Pittsburg; three brothers: Eddie Pierce of Pittsburg; Russell Dean Pierce of Unionville, Virginia; and Richard Pierce of Altamont, Kansas; and seven sisters: Dorothy Lewis of Pittsburg; Marie Grassman of Tulsa, Oklahoma; Jeanie Shaw of Greenfield, Missouri; Mary Klein of Branson, Missouri; Kristina Maize of Adrian, Missouri; Susie Harden and Caroline Burgoon; 9 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Raymond and Robert Pierce.

After cremation a memorial service will be held at a later date in Lockwood, Missouri.
