The former Simmons Bank branch in Greenfield as it appeared on its last day of operation in October 2020. Representatives of Simmons recently pitched the city of Greenfield on retaining its business versus transferring its deposit accounts to the lone remaining bank in town, Great Southern. Regional executives with Simmons Bank in Springfield confirmed that the institution has no plans for the former branch facility in Greenfield, which has sat vacant since its closure. Simmons is headquartered in Pine Bluff, Ark., and is also chartered in that state. (File photo by James McNary/Vedette)
