Lockwood September Days

On Saturday, September 15, Lockwood will celebrate September Days! Activities begin at 7am with breakfast being served at the American Legion Hall.
The Community Foundation Photo & Coloring Contests, and the September Days Quilt Show will be in the Arvest Bank lobby, doors open at 8am. Also opening at 8am is our Vendor area with 40 direct sales and craft booths.

The Livestock Show in the American Legion lot is open to all youth ages 18 and under showing dogs, rabbits, cavies, poultry, goats, sheep, beef and bucket calves. Check-in is at 9:00 am.

The September Days parade down Main Street at 10am will kick off the rest of the day’s festivities. School clubs, local churches, and other civic organizations will be providing lunch, games, and carnival-style food from 10:30am – 3pm.

The Main Stage will be home to our baby show, fashion show, turtle races, Quantum Athletics student performances, teacher recognition, recliner races, cake walk, and awards from the day’s events. We’ll also have special recognition for Joanne Snodgrass and her lifetime of service to the community.

Other daytime activities include the Fred Lemons Memorial Car Show from 11am-2pm on Main Street, and a Youth Coloring Contest at the Library.

The September Days night time fun kicks off at 5:00pm when the beer garden (21+) and food trucks open for business. The Booster Club Cornhole Tournament begins at 5:30 and the first annual Busy Bee 4-H Glow Run starts at 7.

Handicap parking will be available on the North side of Arvest Bank, and in the Ag Service Center lot. Look for designated areas.

September Days Quilt Show

A Quilt Show will be held in the Arvest Bank lobby during Lockwood's September Days on Saturday, September 15. The Quilt Show is open to the public and all quilters. Check-in for the Quilt Show will be from 1-3pm on Friday, September 14th at Arvest. At check in on Friday, there will be an entry form to fill out (no pre-registration required). Quilts need to be folded and placed in a pillowcase with owner's name on pillowcase. Quilts need to be picked up at 3:00 pm on Saturday (after awards). September Days Open Youth Livestock Show

The 5th Annual September Days Livestock Show will be held Saturday, September 15, in the American Legion Lot in Lockwood. The show is open to all youth ages 18 and under showing dogs, rabbits, cavies, poultry, goats, sheep, beef and bucket calves. Check in is at 9:00 am. Cash awards will be given to each class winner and prizes will be awarded for showmanship.

There is no registration fee but please pre-register so we can prepare for you. Entries may be sent to Angie Whitesell, 319 W Dade 166, South Greenfield, 65752 by September 10th. Day of show registration will be allowed. Entry forms are available on the September Days website www.lockwoodseptemberdays.com

Fred Lemons Memorial Car Show

The annual Fred Lemons Memorial Car Show, hosted by the Lockwood Chamber of Commerce, will be held during September Days on Saturday, September 15. Register at Easson’s any time before 11. There will be a Best of Show presented during the Main Stage Awards at 2:00pm. All entrants will receive a free t-shirt. Participants are also invited to enter the September Days parade, line-up between Simmons Bank and the Lockwood Grade School at 9:30am, parade at 10am.

Booster Club Cornhole Tournament

Legacy Farm and Lawn presents the First Annual September Days Cornhole Tournament to benefit the Lockwood Booster Club. There will be 3 Divisions: Youth (up to 8th Grade), Adult (9th Grade and up), and Business. Anyone competing in the Business Division is also welcome to enter the Youth or Adult tournament. Register at the Booster Club booth (near the Arvest drive-thru) during September Days, or text Amanda Schnelle at 417-827-1827 to sign-up. Entries will also be accepted 30 minutes before the start of each division. Registration Fee is $10/team, 2-people per team. Cash Prizes will be awarded in the Youth ($50) and Adult ($100) Divisions for First Place teams. Winners of the Business Division will receive a traveling trophy as well as a year's worth of bragging rights! September Days is Saturday, September 15. Tentative start times for the Tournament: Youth, 5:30pm; Business, 6:00pm; Adult, 7:30pm. Location: September Days Main Stage area behind Arvest Bank in Lockwood.

Baby Show

Make plans to bring your bundle of joy to the September Days Baby Show on Saturday, September 15 in Lockwood. The diapers-only baby show will take place on the Main Stage in the Arvest parking lot at 10:30am (immediately following the September Days parade). Registration will be held prior to the parade, from 9:30-10am near the Main Stage. Entries will be $5 and are open to any baby age 0-24 months.
