John Clinton “Bud” Mayfield

John Clinton “Bud” Mayfield, age 83, of Ash Grove, Missouri, passed away Monday, December 3, 2018, at the Ash Grove Healthcare Facility,

Bud was born December 17, 1934, to Russell and Velma (Williams) Mayfield.

Bud was a lifelong Kansas City Chiefs fan. He enjoyed fishing, dancing and playing the piano.

He graduated from Everton High School in 1952.

Bud married June Brooks in 1953 and to this union three children were born.

Bud worked for and retired from Western Electric Company in Kansas City Missouri.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers: Teddy Max Mayfield and Kenneth Wayne Mayfield

Bud is survived by his three children: daughter, Dania Morrell of Everton, Missouri; son, John David Mayfield and wife, Karen, of Kansas City, Missouri and daughter, Terri Schmille and husband, David, of Westlake, Texas; grandchildren: Jennifer Morrell, of Williard, Missouri; Clint Morrell and wife, Ashley, of Willard; Allison Curry and husband, Brett, of Lees Summit, Missouri; Eric Mayfield and wife, Mary Lou, of Kansas City, Missouri; Joanna Schmille of Ft. Worth, Texas;, and Taylor Schmille and wife, Fay, of Haslet, Texas; great grandchildren: Bryce, Brady and Brock Morrell; Emma Curry; Jaden O’Neal; and Raven Schmille.

Graveside services were held Thursday, December 6, 2018 in Sinking Creek Cemetery, Everton, under the direction of Birch Funeral Home of Ash Grove.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Ash Grove Healthcare Facility Auxiliary.
