Hunter Certification offered at MSBC Saturday, March 9

by Jeremy Edwards | Dade County Conservation Agent

Turkey season is just around the corner. For those of you who do not have your Hunter Certification this will be your opportunity to get certified. This will be a skills session only and it will be held Saturday, March 9 from 8 a.m. to noon at the Main Street Baptist Church in Greenfield. For those of you who are not familiar where the church is located it is the one on the south side of Greenfield on Highway 39 next to the football field.

You must be at least 11 years old to take the hunter education skills class, so bring a state issued identification or birth certificate for proof of age. Also, before you can sign up for the skills session you must complete either an online knowledge session, a classroom knowledge session, or complete all the review questions in the back of the Todays Hunter booklet. If you fail to complete one of these you will not be allowed to attend the class. To sign up for the hunter education skills session go to mdc.mo.gov and click on the hunting and trapping tab at the top of the page. Then click on the Hunter Education tab, this will take you to the page to sign up for skills session.

I will have some Todays Hunter booklets for those who want to read through it and fill out the review questions in the back. If you have any questions about the upcoming classes please give me, Conservation Agent Jeremy Edwards, a call at (417) 955-2389.
