Helen Lorraine Scholpp

Helen Loraine (Donalson) Scholpp of Olathe, Kansas, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Friday, March 22, 2019, at the age of 88.

She was born in November 27, 1930, in Newport, Missouri, to W. Emmit and Jaunita (Bean) Donalson. She graduated from Golden City High School.
She was united in marriage to Charles W. Scholpp on October 17, 1948, in Newport, Missouri.

Helen worked for many years as head cook at Lockwood High School. Prior to that she worked as the secretary at Golden Business Forms and Golden City High School.
Along with her love of cooking, she also enjoyed quilting. Most of all she loved spending time with her family. She volunteered many hours with the Golden City Lions Club and the VFW Auxiliary. She was an active member of the Golden City United Methodist Church before moving to Olathe where she transferred to College Church of the Nazarene.

Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband, Charlie Scholpp, and two sisters, Viola Yonkers and Lois O’Dea.

Survivors include her daughters Cheryl (Larry) Lorence of Dawsonville, Georgia, and Janet (Daryl) Kohler, Olathe, Kansas; four grandchildren: Brett (Catherine) Lorence, Emily (James) Dressler, Adam (Nicole) Lorence, and Erin (Kenny) Yeung; 10 great-grandchildren: Millie and Max Lorence, Eliana, Aidan and Torin Dressler, Andrew and Sadie Lorence and Olivia, Bella and Lily Yeung; sister, Betty LaFon, three stepsons: Gary (Dee) Duncan, Greg (Marcia) Duncan and Ed Duncan; plus a host of other family and friends.

Graveside services were held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, March 27, at Lockwood Cemetery.
