Alvin 'Buck' Adams

Alvin Wesley “Buck’ Adams, age 92, of South Greenfield, Missouri, passed away at 4:45 a.m. on Friday, April 19, 2019, at the Mercy Hospital in Aurora, Missouri.
He was born February 7, 1927, in Perry, Kansas, the son of Loren Adolfus and Laverne (Fassnacht) Adams.

Buck was a United States Merchant Marines Veteran during World War II, and was a home-builder and cattle farmer. He was a member of the Round Grove Baptist Church and the Miller American Legion Post 120.

On May 15, 1954, he married Betty Jean Pierce in Denver, Colorado. She preceded him in death on January 10, 1996.

Buck is survived by four sons: Mark Adams and his wife, Mary; Lester Adams and his wife, Melody; Doug Adams and his wife, Dawn; and Matt Adams and his wife, Carey all of Mt. Vernon; one daughter, Connie Maas of Miller; son-in-law, Garry Estes of Miller; two brothers, Orvan Adams and his wife, Kay, and Francis Adams and his wife, Dorothy, all of Miller; 15 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Buck was preceded in death by his parents, Adolfus and Laverne; wife, Betty; daughter, Sharon Estes; sister, Dorothy Byers and her husband, Ernie; and two brothers: Albert Adams; and Bill Adams and his wife, Dorothy.

A funeral service, under the direction of the Morris-Leiman-Mosher Funeral Home in Miller, Missouri, was held Tuesday, April 23, 2019, at the Round Grove Baptist Church. Burial followed at the Round Grove Cemetery.
