Don't let concerns about coronavirus keep you from voting

Voters with a compromised immune system or who are in a high risk age group for the coronavirus have the option of voting absentee in the April election.

In Dade County, County Clerk Melinda Wright said that absentee voting for the April 7, 2020 election can be done in person at the Dade County Clerk's office at 300 W. Water St., Greenfield, or by mail by calling 417-637-2724.

Absentee voting for every election begins 6 weeks prior to that election. For any questions about or to arrange to absentee vote for the April 7, 2020, election in Dade County, call the clerk's office at 417-637-2724

In Lawrence County, County Clerk Tammy Riebe said her office will work with voters to assure they are able to cast a ballot. To avoid crowds at polling places, they may vote absentee at her office in the courthouse from now through Monday, April 6. Hours are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. There will be Saturday hours from 8 a.m. to noon April 4.

Those who prefer may request that an absentee ballot be mailed to them. They should make that request by March 25. A request form can be downloaded at www.lawrencecountymo.org or call 417-466-2638 for more information.

They may also arrange curbside voting of an absentee ballot outside the courthouse by contacting the clerk’s office at 417-466-2638.

Register to vote before July 8. Absentee voting June 23-Aug. 3
