Health Department Asking Visitors to Keep Roaming at Minimum

March 28, 2020

The Dade County Health Department is requesting that visitors to the county from outside the area please limit their roaming in places of business and public spaces during the ongoing COVID-19 outbreak.

"I know that where there is a stay-at-home order or sheltering-in-place order in effect that some of these people would like to go where they have room to move about easier," said Pamela Allen, administrator of the DCHD. "However, this will just make it easier to spread the virus if they would happen to be a carrier."

Allen said that residents should enjoy the company if they welcome visitors, but to think of others at this time - especially those more susceptible to infection or those more at risk of death if they were to become infected.

"Please be respectful of those in your county at this time. Thank you," said Allen.
