Raise your hand if you or someone you know is a Missouri 4-H alum

October 08, 2020

Missouri 4-H is calling on all alumni to “Show Me Clovers” by raising their hands to help bring 4-H to 100,000 Missouri youths by 2025. Currently, 4-H empowers 57,072 kids in Missouri through community clubs, in-school and after-school clubs, and other delivery modes.

For more than 100 years, 4-H has had a tremendous impact on young people, said Rachel Augustine, Missouri 4-H Foundation director. “Having experienced our programs firsthand, our alumni know best what a positive impact 4-H had on them growing up, which is why we’re reaching out to them to support the next generation of true leaders.”

As part of the Show Me Clovers local call to action through Nov. 15, Missouri 4-H is asking alumni across the state to “Show Me Clovers” by raising their hands in a show of support for their local 4-H program.

Alumni can go to 4h.missouri.edu/foundation and fill in their details. Raising a hand in this way is a vote toward a $100 award for the top five counties with the most alumni hands raised. Alumni can then share their #4HGrown experience on social media or tag fellow alumni by asking them to raise their hands for their counties.

“Our goal is to ensure that every young person in Missouri has the opportunity to learn by doing through 4-H no matter what their circumstances may be,” said Lupita Fabregas, director of the University of Missouri Extension 4-H Center for Youth Development. “The success of our remarkable alumni is a testament to the incredible power of 4-H.”

The new Missouri 4-H program year runs Oct. 1, 2020, to Sept. 30, 2021. More information about online and in-person 4-H programming is available in the Missouri 4-H Clover Catalog and on the Missouri 4-H website at 4h.missouri.edu.
