December 08, 2020

Darla Gail Mitchell, 61, of Springfield, Missouri, passed away Sunday, November 29, 2020. She was born July 12, 1959 in Phoenix, Arizona, to James Roy and Frances Weaver.

Darla was raised in Halltown, Missouri and attended Miller High School. She obtained her GED and eventually went to cosmetology school.

Raising a family was her passion. When she wasn’t with her family, she loved being outdoors in the garden, and working on her goldfish ponds.

Darla had a caring heart, putting others before herself, and always willing to help others. She loved deeply. She loved to make people laugh and was a joy to be around. Although she only raised four children, she was known as “mom” and “granny” to so many. She made a lasting impact on many lives.

She was preceded in death by her parents James Roy and Frances Weaver and brothers Dwane and Kenny Weaver.

Darla is survived by her children: Don Allen and wife, Dalene Mitchell; daughter, Angela and husband, Chad Clark; daughters Ashley and Holly Mitchell; several grandchildren; her stepsons Marshall Miller and Jordan Gray; a brother, Danny Weaver; and a sister Deneau and husband, Todd Henry. She has several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

A celebration of life will be at a later date.
