Online Brief: DCHD to Receive Doses of COVID-19 Vaccine

by James McNary, Articles Editor

The Dade County Health Department has confirmed as of Jan. 22, 2021, that it will be receiving a limited number of doses COVID-19 vaccine for distribution beginning early next week.

The DCHD had instituted a waiting list at the beginning of this week for those in Dade County wishing to receive the vaccine as soon as it became available. Administrator Pam Allen said that those on the waiting list would be contacted, in order, to confirm they still want the vaccine as doses become available for distribution.

"Thanks for your patience during this difficult time and as always, call the health department with any questions or concerns," said Allen.

The DCHD partnered with the Polk County Health Department to implement the waiting list and to make the vaccine available locally. To sign up for the waiting list online, visit: https://form.jotform.com/Polk_County/VaccineSurvey. Make sure to select "Dade" as the county so the request is directed to Dade and not Polk County. The DCHD can also be reached via telephone at 417-637-2345.
