Norma Jean (Baker) Kluhsman

Norma Jean (Baker) Kluhsman, of Lockwood, Missouri, 91, passed away Tuesday March 30, 2021. She was born April 14, 1929 in Springfield, Missouri, of the late Francis and Blanche (Evans) Baker. She was raised in Springfield, Missouri, as the second eldest of seven sisters, and attended school in Springfield, Missouri.
After some brief travel, she worked at Lily Tulip factory, where at a Christmas dance she met the love of her life, Melvin Kluhsman. They were united in marriage April 1, 1959. They honeymooned in Louisiana and Florida then resided in Lockwood. She and Melvin had four sons and worked the family farm, where she bred and raised puppies on the farm. She and Melvin were members of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Lockwood.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Francis and Blanche Baker; loving husband of 53 years, Melvin Kluhsman; and three siblings, Juanita Perryman, Carolyn Williams and Mary Blackman.

Survivors include four sons: Mel Kluhsman, Jr. and wife, Sharon; Phil Kluhsman and wife, Starla; Ray Kluhsman and wife, Kelli; Mike Kluhsman and Doreen; nine grandchildren: Alex Conway and husband, Justin Conway; Hailey Webster and husband, Daniel Webster; Hannah Hall and husband, Alex Hall; Felisha Kluhsman and fiance’, Codey Sackrey; Andrea Kluhsman; Ben Kluhsman and wife, Regan; Abigail Kluhsman; Adam Kluhsman; and Ava Kluhsman; and six great-grandchildren: Ava Tourian, Jase Conway, Lizzy Webster, Hayes Hall, Kyle Hall and Dawson Kluhsman. Norma is also survived by three sisters: Bonnie Pond, Jane Hoefgen and Julie Summers.

Due to COVID, private family services were held at Immanuel Lutheran Church. Burial followed in the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Immanuel Lutheran Church or to the Immanuel Lutheran School, and the donor may designate to a specific fund.
