Bertie Aileen Nedrow

Bertie Aileen Nedrow (93) passed peacefully while living at Regency Manor in Chelan, Washington, on February 22, 2016.
Bertie is survived by her son Rick and his wife Viki, of Chelan; Rick’s daughter Jamie Young and her husband, Rob and their daughter, Chloe, of Covington, Washington. Also, son T.J., his wife, Rachel, their sons, Tyler and Nick, his wife, Stephanie and daughter, Keira, all from Lacey, Washington.

Bertie grew up in Lockwood, Missouri. She went on to attend and graduate from Cottey Collage in Nevada, Missouri and became a faithful PEO Member. She then went to work in her mother’s business until WWII broke out. She then went to work for Lockheed Aviation where she met her future husband, Dale.

Upon his return from the Army, Dale and his new wife, Bertie Aileen, settled in the Wenatchee area. Dale eventually went to work for the Washington State Dept. of Transportation in Yakima, Washington; while they lived in Selah then Yakima and when Dale retired, they moved to Lacey, Washington.

While living in Selah, she worked at Selah Jr. High where she was known as "Mom" by many of the students. She loved little kids and would often stop on her way out of a restaurant to talk to them.

She had a beautiful smile that would light up a room. She was a multi-time cancer survivor. Once, she spoke to a high school class about her experience with breast cancer and the importance of self checks.

She worked for Venus De Milo in Yakima where she provided encouragement to those trying to lose weight. She was an awesome cook.

Bertie Aileen and Dale relocated to Chelan in the fall of 2004 where they encountered many new friends at Heritage Heights, the Apple Cup Cafe and Safeway.

Bertie enjoyed meeting new people and sharing stories and experiences of the past everywhere she went.
Bertie was an avid sports fan with the Mariners, Seahawks and NASCR being her favorites. She enjoyed singing and loved butterflies.
Bertie will be missed by all she came in contact with. Aileen's special hugs cannot be replaced. She loved her family more than anything.

Bertie was preceded in death by her husband Dale who passed on February 24, 2012.
