Amanda Margaret (Bush) Cushman

Amanda Margaret (Bush) Cushman, 96, passed away Tuesday, February 1, 2022, in Branson, Missouri. She was born on January 16, 1926 in Dade County, Missouri, the daughter of Calvin Walter and Maude E. Friend Bush. She was married to Gerald E. Cushman, December 29, 1944 in Bentonville, Arkansas and they were married for 59 years.
Amanda and Jerry moved to Branson in 1950. They helped start the tourist business in Branson by opening Mutton Hollow in 1969 with Amanda’s Gift Shop.
Amanda and Jerry started attending Branson Bible Church in 1950 where she taught Sunday school for many years and helped build and see the church grow.
She was preceded in death by her husband G. E. (Jerry) Cushman; son-in-law, John Gordon; and granddaughter, Andrea Behle; two sisters: Maxine (Bush) Peck and Marcella (Bush) O’Bryant; two brothers: Walter Bush, Jr. and John Alex (Jack) Bush.
Amanda is survived by her children: Vickie and (Wayne) Dixon, Lynda Jury, Brenda Gordon, Sherry and (Harry) Behle and David Cushman; ten grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
A private burial for family only will be held with other arrangements to follow at a later date. All arrangements are under the direction of Greenlawn Funeral Home in Branson.
