Truman Noel Farmer

Truman Noel Farmer, of Greenfield Missouri, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, March 2, 2022, at Dade County Nursing Home at the age of 94.
Truman graduated from Greenfield High School in 1947. Truman was born on December 5, 1927, in Dade County, Missouri, to Ventin Farmer, and Ethel Frye Farmer who preceeded him in death. He is also preceded in death by his sisters and brother-in-laws: June and Noble Steeley, Dorothy and Roy Brown, Helen and Owen Bigelow; brother-in-law, Jerry Lucas, and nephew, Leon Steeley.
Truman married his soulmate, Dixie Aileen Montgomery, on July 27, 1950 and they were happily married for over 71 years. This union brought the three Farmer Girls: Jana Farmer of Greenfield, who preceeded him in death; Monda Jeffreys and husband, Ron, of Arcola, Missouri; and Agena Farmer of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; sister, Lemoin Lucas of Springfield, Missouri. Truman had one grandson, Paul Jeffreys and wife, Krista, of Arcola, Missouri. He also had two great grandsons: Hunter Jeffreys and wife, Princess, of Arcola, Missouri and Noah Jeffreys of Arcola, Missouri. Truman was proud to also be a great-great grandfather to Haze Jeffreys. He was very proud to be a part of five generations. Truman loved his huge family of countless nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.
He served in the Korean Conflict as a corporal in the U.S. Army. He was a 60-plus-year member of the American Legion and the Washington Lodge#87, and Shriners. He was president of the Lions Club, the Chamber of Commerce, Rajah of the Stockton Shrine Club, fire chief of the Greenfield Fire Department, and served on the city council. He was a founding member of the Greenfield Swimming Pool Association and Buffalo Days. He said he wanted to be known as a man who took his turn.
