Della Mae (Hurd) Woolley

April 24, 2022

On Saturday, the 23rd day of April, 2022, Della Mae (Hurd) Woolley, of Everton, Missouri, departed this world at the age of 71 at 12 p.m. surrounded by her family.

She was born on February 20, 1950 in Springfield, Missouri to Virgil and Ruby (Leeper) Hurd. Della was united in marriage to Michael Woolley on April 8, 1972 in Greenfield, Missouri.

Della loved helping and working with people, doing so throughout the various jobs she held through the decades. Most notably working at the Springfield Regional Center, and owning Red’s Drive-In in Greenfield where she treated employees as family. She loved horses, camping, and her family more than anything. Witty and intelligent, Della conquered every challenge she faced with humor and grace.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Virgil and Ruby (Leeper) Hurd; two brothers, Keith and Dean Hurd; and many aunts and uncles and other family that we are sure she rejoices to rejoin.

She is survived by her husband, Michael Woolley; two daughters, April (Woolley) Weaver and her husband, Dennis; and Michelle (Woolley) Adams. Della is also survived by her grandchildren: Jade, Hailey, Damien, Sean, and Robinton Weaver and Kaden and Jansen Adams; her brother, Virgil Hurd; and so many other close family members including nieces, nephews, and a gaggle of unofficially adopted family.

Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, April 27, 2022, at Oak Grove Cemetery in Walnut Grove.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Glioblastoma Foundation.
