Congratulations to Jerod & Kelsey Hicks on the arrival of their daughter, Hattie Pearl. She arrived on October 18, 2022, at 9:26 p.m. tipping the scales at 7 lbs. 8 oz and was 20 ¼ inches long with a full head of dark hair. She was welcomed home by the 2 ½ year old twins, Cooper and Cora. Don’t you know they have their hands full now. But what a happy hand full. Proud grandparents are Glenn & Janie Walters of Pennsboro. Also, congratulations to my son, Stormy Baker and Chelsey Martin on having a beautiful wedding October 22, 2022. I couldn’t be happier!

Last week sister, Tassy felt good enough to help out at the store 2 days and we are so thankful she feels good enough to do so.

We were sad to get word that cousin, Janie Myers, 72 passed away on October 20, 2022. She had just celebrated her birthday the week before. She used to help out at the store all the time until her health failed her 6 months ago. She adored Bodhi and doted on him at the store all the time. She will be dearly missed as she had been with us at the store for over 3 years helping out. Her immediate family are having a private burial at a later date.

Also got word my good friend, Betsy Staudt's mother, Katy Netzer, 93 passed away at

the Greenfield Nursing Home on October 16, 2022. Katy and Roland use to run the egg

hatchery on K Hwy when I was a kid. Roland & Katy shared 71 years of marriage and

had 7 children. Roland survives along with children, Kelly, Mel, Jeff, Betsy, Fred, Jean

and Alice along with a host of grandchildren. Graveside services were October 24 at

Mo. Veterans Cemetery. A lot of you will know Mel & Missy from the Dade County

Senior Center.

Was sorry to hear classmate, Daryl Huchteman lost his sister, Cheryl Polodna on

October 20.2022 who would have been 60 on November 1. She leaves behind her

devoted husband and 2 daughters. Erin & Brittney. Rick and I use to visit with Cheryl

and her husband at the cancer center in Tulsa when we were all going there. She was

such a sweet person and a fighter. She will be dearly missed.

Also, Jenny Montrey, 40 passed away October 15, 2022 in Rolla. Jenny use to be a

waitress at the Backwoods Restaurant in Greenfield. She leaves behind her parents,

Mike & Sandra Montrey, children-Franklin, Heaven & Christian Lucas, 1 grandchild

and 2 sisters, Teresa Ratermann & Rebecca Montrey. Service was October 20 in Hawk

Point, Mo. Keep all these families in your prayers who has lost a loved one.

What beautiful weather we have been having but I hope the rain makes it here Monday

and Tuesday. We desperately need some moisture.

Was sorry to hear the Vedette cut their staff and we lost Lavinia who was always so good

to help me out. Hopefully this isn't the beginning of the end of our paper.

We got word that Violet Campbell took a little spill and dislocated & broke her shoulder.

She spent a few days in the hospital and then went home with one of her girls. Wishing

her a speedy recovery.

Over the weekend Elin Pirtle celebrated her 9th birthday with a taco party. She had lots

of family there to help her including 4 Great-Grandparents. Not many can say that.

Saturday was a reunion for the cousins on Patty VanHooser's side at their cabin. They

had a great turn out and the weather couldn't have been better. I know a lot of good food

was eat and the visiting & picture taking was fun too.

Sunday afternoon Wayne & Regina Stapp were surprised with a 504 wedding

anniversary party put on by their children. A good time was had by all their friends and family.

Everyone have a great week!
