James “Jim” Hackney

Jim Hackney age 69 of Marionville, Missouri passed away Tuesday, December 13th at Solace Hospice House in Joplin, Missouri. Jim fought a long battle with many health issues. Jim was the son of the late Bill and Joan Hackney of Liberal, Missouri. Jim spent his life's career as a history teacher, coach, driver's ed and PE teacher at several schools in SW Missouri. He also owned a sporting goods store in Mt. Vernon, Missouri. He was a big fan of the KC Royals and Chiefs. In his spare time, he was an avid golfer. He loved to travel throughout the US making many detours to sport stadiums and arenas. Although his life was cut short, he will always be fondly remembered by his friends and family.
