James Dean J.D. Myers

J.D. Myers was born on September 27, 1929, on a farm near Everton, Missouri. He departed this life on September 21, 2015, at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri, at the age of 85 years, 11 months and 21 days.

J.D. was the son of Loyd and Maybelle (Ketchum) Myers. At the age of 17, he accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior and is currently a member of Hopewell Baptist Church of Everton. He loved working on his farm, whether it was putting up hay or feeding cattle. He was a loving husband, father, grandpa and Papa J.D.

On January 1, 1950, he was united in marriage to Ninavea Vandegrift and to this union four children were born.

He was preceded indeath by his parents, Loyd and Maybelle Myers; his brother, Bobby Joe Myers; sister, Betty Jean Vandegrift; son-in-law, John Sugg; and two nephews, Mark and Dustin Myers.

J.D. is survived by his wife, Ninavea, of the home; one son, Michael Myers and wife, Daralene, of Everton; three daughters: Judy Sugg of Everton; Susanne Myers of Springfield; Teresa Flowers and husband, John, of Everton; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great, great-grandchild; as well as nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and dear friends and neighbors.

Visitation was held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, September 24, 2015, at Hopewell Baptist Church. Funeral services were held 10:30 a.m. on Friday, September 25, 2015 at Hopewell Baptist Church, southeast of Everton, Missouri, with Reverend Kenneth Wilson and Reverend Dwight Steeley officiating under the direction of Birch Funeral Home, Ash Grove, Missouri.

Burial followed in Shiloh Cemetery, located on Highway WW, between Everton and Miller, Missouri.
