Violet Kathryn “Kathy” Killingsworth

Violet Kathryn “Kathy” Killingsworth, 83, of Springfield, Missouri, departed this life on Friday, June 10, 2016, in the Brookhaven Nursing and Rehab Facility surrounded by her loved ones.
She was born on November 30, 1932, in Greene County, Missouri, to Joseph C. and Pearl (Hosey) Chadwick. At the age of 18, Kathy followed her Lord in believer’s baptism.
Kathy was united in marriage to James Mack Mathis and to this union were born two children, Joyce and Mack. He preceded her in death.
Kathy was joined in marriage to Robert Oral Killingsworth on April 4, 1975, in Springfield, Missouri and he preceded her in death.
Kathy was also preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Pearl Chadwick; one brother, Eddie Chadwick; one half-sister, Gladys Pratt; one half-brother, Johnny Chadwick; and one step-son, Terry Killingsworth.
Survivors include: one daughter, Joyce Nealson and her husband, Gordon; one son, Mack Mathis and his wife, Debbie; one step-son, Robert Killingsworth and his wife, Jean; one step-daughter, Rita Needham and her husband, Jim; one granddaughter; two great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren; sixteen step-great-grandchildren; a special niece, Barbara Ann Geddie; one sister-in-law, Frances Chadwick; a very special friend, Janice Smith; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Lawrence County Manor in Mt. Vernon, the Brookhaven Nursing and Rehab Facility in Springfield, and Haven Hospice in Springfield for their compassionate care and kindness bestowed upon Kathy.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 14, 2016, in Greenfield Funeral Chapel.
Burial followed in Miller Memorial Gardens.
The family received friends on Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. until service time in the funeral chapel.
