Everett ‘Dale’ Jennings

Everett ‘Dale’ Jennings, 93, Greenfield, Missouri, died on Saturday,January 13, 2024. Dale Jennings was born August 7, 1930, in Visalia, California, to John Jennings and Floy Runyon Jennings. He married Vesta M. Hurt on December 1, 1951, in Greenfield, Missouri.

Dale was a veteran, serving his country with the United States Army during the Korean War as a Sargeant First Class. He was a member of the Main Street Baptist Church in Greenfield, Missouri, where he was a treasurer for many years. He retired from Hussman Inc. in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and returned to Greenfield where he served as the city Mayor for two terms.

Survivors include a daughter, Cheryl Franklin and her husband Ron, of Carthage, Missouri; three sons: Gary D. Jennings and his wife, Cathi, Mobile Alabama; Terry L. Jennings and his wife, Stacey, Edmond, Oklahoma; and Michael K. Jennings and his wife, Kathryn, Edmond, Oklahoma; a brother, Joe Jennings and his wife, Janice, Willard, Missouri; 12 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Preceding him in death is his wife of 62 years, Vesta Mae (Hurt) Jennings; two sisters, Cleo Richter and Joyce Butler; and two brothers, John and Glenn Jennings.

Funeral services were held Saturday, January 20, 2024 at the Main Street Baptist Church with Minister Ron Franklin officiating. The burial was in Greenfield Cemetery, Greenfield, Missouri.

Memorial gifts in honor of Mr. Jennings may be made to Main Street Baptist Church in care of Knell Mortuary.
