Suzanne Anita Jenkins

Suzanne Anita (Hancock) Jenkins, of Greenfield, Missouri, departed this life on Thursday, August 8, 2024, at Freeman West Hospital in Joplin, Missouri at the age of 78.

She was born on June 18, 1946 in Huntington Park, California, and grew up in Paramount, California. Suzanne graduated from Paramount High School and from the Marinello Comer School of Beauty in Long Beach, California.  

In her late twenties, Suzanne moved from Huntington Beach, California to Greenfield, Missouri. After working for others, including Wynes Beauty Shop, she opened Suzie Q’s Hair Salon.  Suzanne was a hairdresser for over 55 years.  

She loved to tend a garden, do yardwork, and loved the ocean and the beach.  Suzanne was friendly, outgoing, and always giving.  She attended the Greenfield Church of Christ for many years.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Arnold and Rita (Pautz) Hancock. Survivors include her daughter Shelly Keeling and husband, George, of Oronogo, Missouri; her son, John “Billy” East of Monett, Missouri; three brothers: Bob Hancock and wife, Lori, of California; Bill Hancock and wife, Melissa, of California; and Gaylord Hancock and wife, Carol Ann, of Utah; one sister, Joniene East and husband, Ron, of Ash Grove, Missouri; nine grandchildren; as well as a host of great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, August 24, 2024, at Greenfield Funeral Chapel.  The family will receive friends at 1 p.m. until service time at the funeral chapel.  

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
