Margaret “Tiny” Olsen

Margaret Elizabeth “Tiny” Olsen, age 78, joined her beloved husband, John Poe Olsen, in Heaven on Monday morning, September 19, 2016.
She was born on April, 9, 1938, to Elmer Guy and Yerda Ruth Hamlett.
In 1957, at the age of 19, Tiny married her one true love, John Poe Olsen, Sr. The two of them had three beautiful children, John Poe, Jr., William Robert, and Sharon Ruth.
In 1963, John and Tiny moved to Everton to start their dairy farm and expanded over the years to include beef cattle, range turkeys, dogs, and birds.
Tiny loved gardening and especially enjoyed her beautiful flower beds and the hanging pots that would surrounded her house each summer. She was a talented seamstress, and quite the hobby painter. The two things she loved the most were country dancing with her John, and weekly coffee circles at her kitchen table. She loved her husband, children and grandchildren dearly.

Tiny is preceded in death by her husband, John Poe Olsen Sr.; her parents, Elmer Guy Hamlett, Yerda Ruth and stepfather Noah Frank Armbrister; her brothers, Raymond and James Hamlett; her sister, Mary Duncan; and granddaughter, Ashley Burnett.

Tiny is survived by her sister, Lillian Mae Pace; her children, John P. Olsen Jr. and his wife, Carrie; William R. Olsen and his wife, Jean; and Sharon R. Spain and her husband, Keith; and her lifelong best friend Beverly Payne Mabry of Texas.

Tiny was blessed with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Rachel and James Williams and son TJ; Lexi and Jack Colwell; Tiffany and Scott Beckner and daughters Jessica and Emily; James Olsen and children Quintin and Ariana; Brandon Spain and children Kristion, Bradon, and Elijah; Jonathan Olsen; Jason Spain and fiancé, Keshia and daughter Jazzmenn; and great grand-daughters Megan and Chasedy Burnett.

Services will be Thursday, September 22nd at 10 a.m. at Liberty Baptist Church, Everton. Interment at Liberty Cemetery.
