Lucy Ann Choate

Lucy Ann Choate, age 85, of Miller, Missouri, passed away at 9:04 p.m. on Sunday, September 18, 2016, at the Lawrence County Manor in Mt. Vernon, Missouri. She was born May 13, 1931, in Rossville, Illinois, the daughter of the late Harry and Edna (Johnson) Edwards.

She worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse at the Missouri State Chest Hospital in Mt. Vernon.

On March 20, 1947, she married Wayne Choate in Kansas. He preceded her in death on January 18, 1982.

She is survived by two daughters, Patsy Lee and her husband, Thurman, of Miller, and Martha Rader and her husband, Mike, of Lockwood, Missouri; three sons, Dan Choate and his wife, Debra, of Everton, Missouri, Rex Choate and his wife, Lisa, of Mt. Vernon, and Jack Choate and his wife, Sabre, of Miller; one sister, Kate Shanks of Ash Grove, Missouri; 19 grandchildren; 44 great grandchildren; and 4 great-great grandchildren.

Her parents, husband, daughter, Helen Singleton; three brothers, Albert, Johnson and Junior Edwards; four sisters, Norma Vert, Ruth Rush, Alice McCann and Mary Edwards, preceded her in death.

A funeral service was held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, September 23, 2016, at the Morris-Leiman-Mosher Funeral Home in Miller, Missouri. Burial followed at the Round Grove Cemetery. Visitation was held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 22, 2016, in the funeral home chapel.
