Nancy Lee (Jones) Evermon

A memorial service for Nancy Lee (Jones) Evermon will be held at the Lockwood United Methodist Church on Saturday, October 22, 2016, at 2 p.m. A dinner/reception for family, close friends and invited guests will be held at the Crossing following the service.

Nancy passed away on August 29, 2016, in Anchorage, Alaska with her husband and their two children at her bedside.

She was born March 20, 1946, in Marshfield to Retha Fern (Wheeler) and John Lewis Jones of Elkland, Missouri. After John returned from service in the Navy in the Pacific theatre, the family moved to Columbia where John completed his degree in vocational agriculture at the University of Missouri.

Nancy entered the second grade at Lockwood Elementary when her father was hired as the school's vocational agriculture teacher.

Nancy graduated from Lockwood High School in May of 1964 and entered the University of Missouri in the fall where she met her future husband, Paul.

They were married at Lockwood United Methodist by the Rev. Kenneth Lee on June 11, 1966. Their union was blessed with two children: son, Paul III; and daughter, Lorie.

Despite Nancy's numerous health issues throughout her life, she and her family lived a rich and adventurous life living in five different states including Alaska and Hawaii and visiting many more.

She is survived by her husband of fifty years, Paul A. Evermon II, of Anchorage; her mother, Retha Fern Jones, of Lockwood, Missouri; brother, John L. Jones, II and his wife, Pixy Jones, of Quincy, Illinois; her son, Paul A. Evermon, III and his wife, Patty Evermon, of Greenfield, Missouri; daughter, Lorie Whitford and her husband, John Whitford, of Shawnee, Kansas; and grandsons Andrew Revis, Alex Revis and Ashton Revis, all of Shawnee, Kansas; and granddaughters, Bayley Shirk and Layken Shirk, both of Greenfield, Missouri.
