Leroy Belt

May 20, 2025

Leroy Belt, age 86, of Miller, Missouri, passed away Sunday, May 11, 2025, at his home. He was born on May 7, 1939, in Gravette, Arkansas, the son of Merle Edgar and Ethyl Effie (Graham) Belt.
Leroy was a 1957 high school graduate, married Delores Jean Whitehead in 1957, and started his family in 1958. He then started his lifelong career as an over-the-road truck driver. He received the award for driving one million miles and the Driver of the Year award.
He enjoyed classic cars, aeronautics, and everything to do with outer space.
He lived a life full of adventure, pleasure, and fun. Some knew him as Cotton, some knew him as Stagger Lee. We called him Dad and Grandpa Lee. Life was good as it gets.
Leroy is survived by his daughter, Brenda Stratton and her husband, Craig, of Miller, Missouri; two sons, Curtis Belt and his wife, Deborah, of Yukon, Oklahoma and Brian Belt, and his wife, Cindy, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; four grandchildren: Zachary Whiteley of Perryville, Missouri; Jillian Hedrick and her husband, BJ, of Mt. Vernon, Missouri; Heather Belt and Charles Belt, both of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; nine great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
Leroy was preceded in death by his parents, Merle and Effie and his sister, Theola Temples.
A private family celebration of Leroy’s life was held at his home on Saturday, May 17, 2025. Arrangements are under the direction of Morris-Leiman-Mosher Funeral Home in Miller, Missouri.
