Carolyn Steeley

Carolyn Sue Steeley, of Greenfield, Missouri, departed this life on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, at the Republic Nursing and Rehabilitation Facility in Republic, Missouri at the age of 82.

 She was born on January 16, 1943 in Dade County, Missouri, to Floyd and Faye (Sanders) Gass.  Sue graduated from Greenfield High School in 1962.  

She was united in marriage to Robert “Bob” Steeley on May 6, 1972 in Greenfield, Missouri.  Sue worked as a hospitality worker. She enjoyed doing crafts.  Sue had a strong Christian faith, and was an avid reader of the Bible.  She also enjoyed listening to gospel music.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Floyd and Faye Gass; her husband, Bob Steeley; and one sister, Mary Keith.

Survivors include two sisters: Ruby Eddington; and Bonnie Daniel and husband, Kermit; two brothers: Bobby Lee Gass; and Dale Gass and Gale; eight nieces and nephews: Christy, Charlotte, Doug, Brad, Dale, Lisa, Tammy, and Donna Faye; and a host of great -nieces and nephews including Stevan, Kyle, Alegandro, and Ariana.

Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, at Cedarville Cemetery.  

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
